Morocco is a predominantly Muslim country, although due to the country’s cultural diversity, it is a very tolerant one, most likely because of its past French influences. Morocco ’s culture and history is unique in Africa , its close proximity to Europe has made it the gateway between the two continents creating an eclectic mix of people and an entirely different culture and landscape. For centuries Morocco has attracted artists, scholars and tourists due to its exotic culture and traditions. The national language is Arabic, but French, Spanish and English are widely spoken. Morocco is renowned for the friendliness and hospitality of its people. Morocco is much more Mediterranean in feel than other North African countries. Its popularity has grown over the years as a holiday destination, in part helped by the King Mohammed IV´s Plan Azur.

The government of Morocco is very stable and forward thinking. The country has made and continues to make large investments into boosting tourism and international investment. In 1999, His Highness Crown Prince Sidi Mohammed was declared King of Morocco 'His Majesty King Mohammed VI'. After his enthronement the King uncovered his ambitious development plans for Morocco called Plan Azur. The Plan Azur & Vision 2010 is a plan to increase tourism to 10 million visitors a year by 2010. Furthermore to create 600.000 jobs in the tourist industry and built property.

Climate, Culture & Geography

Morocco has a tremendous diversity all over the country with four mountain ranges, green river valleys and immaculate beaches on the Mediterranean and Atlantic coast. Northern Morocco is blessed with a warm and dry climate and enjoys close proximity to Europe . The climate in the north is very similar to the climate on the Spanish Costa del Sol. Morocco offers visitors a memorable journey where every sense is stimulated. For lovers of gastronomy, Morocco is a veritable smorgasbord of delight. Medieval cities with ancient medinas and palaces are there to be explored. Mountains where Berbers live as they have done for centuries are there to be trekked. The dunes of the Saharan are there to marvel at or ski down.
