After the presentation of the Plan Azur the government has started mayor improvements of infrastructrures. A number of new roads are now finished or about to be finished. Dual carriage roads, toll roads and national roads are at European standards and can handle traffic. National airports are currently undergoing important extentions to become modern international airports. In this way the Moroccan government has created acces; new airports, good accesroads to the coast and mayor cities. At present a high speed train network through Morocco is being constructed, in the near future this will connect all mayor cities.

The next step -that has alredy been taken- is getting airplanes with tourists there. The government has signed an Open Skies Agreement with the European Union. Now European Airlines are allowed to operate, without restrictions, at the international airports in Morocco . More Moroccan airports will be on the destination list of British, French, Scandinavian, Dutch and German low cost airlines. Ryanair, ThomsonFly and Easyjet already announced new routes to Morocco , and have plans for even more in the near future. The number of low-cost flights to different Moroccan airports will rise quickly within the next few years.

Now we have the airports, the airlines, the roads, all infrasturcture planned. Here is were it becomes intersting for the property investor or buyer. The plan Azur is also the development and construction of six luxury coastal resorts. Only these developments are backed by the Moroccan government. A very important point for the smart investor.

Morocco´s new infrasture is a very important omprovement for the whole country but focusses on acces to the resorts, tourist areas and mayor cities. The government’s master plan for these areas will ensure that the resorts will benefit from modern infrastructure.
